Members

Former England captain and Fulham FC legend Johnny Haynes has died in Edinburgh following a car crash, the day after celebrating his 71st birthday.

Outstanding talent
One of the outstanding inside forwards of his day, Haynes played 56 times for England, 22 as skipper, in the 1950s and 1960s. He was a reserve at the 1954 FIFA World Cup before featuring in the following two finals tournaments. All the while he was a Fulham stalwart, finishing his career with a record 657 appearances for the London team capped by 157 goals.

Fulham stalwart
Known as 'the Maestro' during his time at Craven Cottage, Haynes rejected moves to bigger clubs and was rewarded when he became the first English player to earn £100 a week in 1961. However, his international career ended the next year when he was injured in a car accident.
