Dinamo attract top target Semin

Members

Yuri Semin has signed a three-year contract to coach FC Dinamo Moskva, 24 hours after standing down as Russia coach following a successful spell in charge.

Miserable campaign
Dinamo will bring down the curtain on a miserable campaign on 19 November with an away game at FC Krylya Sovetov Samara, knowing they cannot finish any higher than eighth spot. The club invested heavily in players at the start of the season but saw a succession of coaches, most recently Brazilian Ivo Wortmann who was fired on Monday, fail to get the best out of them.

Domestic glory
Semin will take charge when Dinamo return from Samara. He is expected to bring in Aleksandr Borodyuk and Mariano Bareto as his assistants with caretaker coach Andrei Kobelev being retained in some capacity. The 58-year-old has a fine track record in Russian football, having guided FC Lokomotiv Moskva to glory in both the championship and Russian Cup.
