FC Barcelona sporting director Txiki Begiristain has suggested that Argentinian striker Maxi López will leave the club in November after playing just 14 minutes of first-team football this season. The former CA River Plate player is already receiving interest from a host of Primera División clubs, with Begiristain having said that he "needs to play more and we have to find a team for him".
FC Krylya Sovetov Samara have signed new contracts with coach Gadzhi Gadzhiev and captain Andriy Husin. Gadzhiev, who had been tipped to take over at FC Lokomotiv Moskva, has signed a two-year deal with the option of a third year which club president Aleksandr Baranovsky says will make him one of the highest paid coaches in Russia. Meanwhile Ukrainian international Husin has signed a straight three-year deal.
Sporting Clube de Portugal midfielder Nani has been granted Portuguese citizenship one day after his 19th birthday. The Cape Verde-born player has shone since Paulo Bento took over from José Peseiro at Sporting and is being tipped as a future Portuguese international. He is expected to sign a new contract in December which will tie him to the club until 2010.

FC Bayern München midfielder Michael Ballack is out of his club's trip to DSC Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday. The Germany captain is still suffering from a thigh injury he picked up when in action for his country against France last Saturday. Bayern have decided to rest the midfielder in order to ensure that he is fit for the UEFA Champions League match against SK Rapid Wien on Tuesday.
Birmingham City FC striker Mikael Forssell will be out of action for up to three weeks after picking up a thigh strain in training this week. The 24-year-old Finnish international sustained the problem on Wednesday and now faces a spell on the sidelines.
