Getafe CF coach Bernd Schuster has been rewarded with a new contract following the club's promising start to the Primera División season. The German's two-year extension ties him to the Spanish side until June 2008.
'Best choice'
"We must build for the future, we have to strengthen our team and Bernd is the best choice," said club president Angel Torres Sánchez, whose team went top of the table early in the season before sliding back to their current position of ninth place.
'No surprise'
Schuster, who joined Getafe in summer 2005 from relegated Levante UD, said: "I couldn't ask for anything more. I feel very comfortable here and am happy with the team. If the club is happy and everything is going well, then it's no surprise that my contract has been extended."
