News round-up: PFC CSKA Sofia have signed four players from PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv 1936 while Club Atlético de Madrid have been fined over racist abuse.

Club Atlético de Madrid have been fined €6,000 after a section of their support racially abused RCD Espanyol goalkeeper Carlos Kaméni during a league match on 27 November. The Spanish Football Federation acted after a complaint from the government-run anti-violence commission which estimated that 500 fans had been involved in the incidents.

German Bundesliga side 1. FC Köln have appointed Michael Meier as football director, four days after the resignation of Andreas Rettig. The 56-year-old, who until last summer was BV Borussia Dortmund's general manager, has agreed a four-year deal and his first task will be to find a replacement for coach Uwe Rapolder who was sacked at the weekend.

Holders PSV Eindhoven have qualified for the Dutch Cup quarter-finals after a 3-0 victory against FC Twente. Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC have appointed Ton Kannen as coach until the end of the season, filling the gap left by Nir Klinger's departure a fortnight ago. Dutchman Kannen left Beitar Jerusalem FC last week. Underachieving Maccabi are fifth in Israel with 20 points from 14 matches, 20 behind runaway leaders Maccabi Haifa FC. "I intend to challenge Haifa's dominance," Kannen said.
