Spending spree
The trio are Portuguese midfielder Pedro Mendes, former England Under-21 midfielder Sean Davis, and French defender Noë Pamarot. Their arrivals follow the club-record signing last week of Zimbabwean international striker Benjani Mwaruwari as well as the addition, until the end of the season, of Poland forward Emmanuel Olisadebe.
Out of favour
Davis had not made a first-team appearance for high-flying Tottenham this term, while Mendes had been limited to three Premiership starts and Pamarot to two substitute cameos. The trio are all aged 26. Portsmouth's survival prospects have been raised by fresh investment from new club co-owner Alexandre Gaydamak.
