Real Racing Club Santander have parted company with Pablo Casar and Fernando Marqués. Centre-back Casar, 27, has agreed to terminate his contract with the Primera División side and is expected to join second division Real Valladolid. The 21-year-old striker Marqués, meanwhile, has been dismissed for repeated breaches of club discipline.
In Germany, 1. FC Köln's new coach Hanspeter Latour has told midfielders Andrew Sinkala, Youssef Mokhtari and Rolf-Christel Guié-Mien that they are surplus to requirements. "But as long as they are here, they can do their best in training in order to have a chance of getting into the team," Latour said.
Celtic FC have handed a new four-and-a-half year deal to teenage midfielder Simon Ferry. "To be given this deal shows that the manager [Gordon Strachan] has faith in me," said the 18-year-old.
Feyenoord have cancelled the contract of defender Bruno Basto by mutual consent. The 27-year-old Portuguese, signed by Ruud Gullit from FC Girondins de Bordeaux in September 2004, was out of favour under current coach Erwin Koeman. Rumoured to be in talks with AS Saint-Etienne, Basto played a total of 18 Eredivisie matches, scoring one goal.
