Denmark booked their place in the final of the annual four-team tournament in Hong Kong with a 3-0 victory over the hosts. There was less joy for the other European side in the tournament, however, as Croatia lost their opening match 2-0 to the Korean Republic.
Easy win
Despite missing a number of key players, the Danes coasted to victory with goals from Søren Berg, Thomas Augustinussen and Anders Due. They will expect a stiffer test in Wednesday's final after FIFA World Cup finalists the Korean Republic dispatched a depleted Croatian team with efforts from Kim Dong-Jin on 36 minutes and Lee Chun-Soo moments into the second half.
Kranjčar satisfied
Croatian coach Zlatko Kranjčar suffered more than 20 withdrawals from his original squad for the annual competition, and was not surprised by his team's defeat. He said: "I am not dissatisfied, my players gave their best. They were still suffering from jet lag and they had never played together before." The Croatians now take on Hong Kong in the third-place play-off prior to the final. They have been drawn in the same group as champions Brazil at the World Cup.
