Famous sibling
The 44-year-old Arconada, brother of former Spanish international goalkeeper Luis Arconada, will take charge of the San Sebastian-based side until the end of the season. Club chairman Miguel Fuentes turned to him after dismissing Amorrortu following a run of poor results and Sunday's 3-1 defeat by lowly Deportivo Alavés.
Years with reserves
Arconada has spent five seasons at the helm of Real Sociedad B and will lead the full squad into his first game against RCD Mallorca at the weekend. Arconada said: "The team have quality and have done some great things. What they need now is to make up with the crowd and unite the club."
