FC Dinamo Moscow and Portugal defender Jorge Ribeiro has joined Spanish side Málaga CF on loan until the end of the season, when the relegation-threatened club have the option to make the move permanent. "He's a quality player and we thank him for the interest he showed in wanting to come to this club," said Málaga director Antonio Mendoza. The 24-year-old failed to settle in Russia after joining Dinamo in January 2005.
Another side languishing at the wrong end of the Primera División, Deportivo Alavés, have also boosted their squad by signing Uruguay striker Antonio Pacheco. The 29-year-old switches from Albacete Balompié, for whom he scored 12 goals last season before they were relegated.
SK Brann have taken Rosenborg BK's Uruguayan pair Alejandro Lago and Sebastian Eguren on loan for the 2006 season. The players arrived in Trondheim last summer, but neither have met the Tippeligaen club's expectations, with midfielder Eguren struggling even to earn a place in the side.
Feyenoord's 20-year-old left-back Ferne Snoyl has joined Aberdeen FC on loan until the end of the season. "We are very grateful to Feyenoord for letting him go," said Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood. "The lad has taken a drop in wages to come here which says a lot about him."
ES Troyes Aube Champagne have signed Tunisian striker Ali Zitouni on loan from Espérance Sportive de Tunis until the end of the season. The Ligue 1 outfit will have an option to buy the 25-year-old in the summer.
Ghana defender John Mensah has joined Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais FC on loan from AC Chievo Verona until the end of the season. The 23-year-old is currently on international duty, playing alongside AS Roma's Sammy Kuffour at the African Cup of Nations.
Former Polish international Cezary Kucharski, who recently terminated his contract with GKS Górnik Łęczna, has rejoined former club Legia Warszawa. The 33-year-old striker has committed until the end of the season, for what will be his fourth spell at a club with whom he has won the title, Polish Cup and Polish League Cup.
Croatian First Division leaders NK Dinamo Zagreb have continued their Latin revolution after defender Carlos became the fourth Brazilian-born player in their ranks. The former São Paulo FC youth player, 20, has signed a remarkable seven-year contract with the club, where he could play alongside compatriots Etto and Anderson. A fourth player, Eduardo Da Silva, was born in Rio de Janeiro before gaining Croatian citizenship.
ADO Den Haag have signed Czech goalkeeper Jaroslav Drobný on loan from Fulham FC until the end of this season. The 26-year-old former Under-21 international is yet to appear for the English Premiership outfit following his transfer from Panionios NFC during the summer.
Chelsea FC midfielder Joe Keenan has joined Willem II on loan for the rest of this season. The move sees the 23-year-old return to the Netherlands, where he spent 18 months at KVC Westerlo before returning to Stamford Bridge last June. He is expected to make his Willem II debut against RBC Roosendaal on Friday.
