Dutch Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven moved three points clear of rivals AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord with a 2-0 win at home against RKC Waalwijk. Goals from Jefferson Farfán and DaMarcus Beasley moved the defending champions on to 48 points from 20 matches.
Ajax late show
AZ slipped up in a 1-1 home draw against FC Groningen, who took the lead through Glenn Salmon before Shota Arveladze salvaged a share of the points for the hosts. Feyenoord were also held at home, playing out a goalless draw against Roda JC at De Kuip. AFC Ajax stay fourth after snatching victory from the jaws of defeat away against FC Twente. Trailing 2-1 with two minutes remaining, the Amsterdam side struck through Hedwiges Maduro and Urby Emanuelson to secure an unlikely triumph. They remain level on points with NEC Nijmegen, who ran out convincing 5-0 winners against ADO Den Haag.
Brugge make move
Club Brugge KV moved level on points with the Belgian First Division leaders after R. Standard Liège lost surprisingly and RSC Anderlecht drew. Goals from Javier Portillo and Kevin Roelandts gave Club Brugge a 2-0 win against FC Brussels on Friday, and the Bruges-based side then watched their two closest rivals stumble. Standard succumbed 2-1 at home against SV Zulte-Waregem, for whom Tony Sargeant scored the winner 15 minutes from time, while Anderlecht drew 2-2 at home against KSV Cercle Brugge and needed a late equaliser from Argentinian debutant Nicolás Frutos.

Celtic extend lead
Celtic FC moved ten points clear at the top of the Scottish Premier League following their 3-1 victory against Motherwell FC at Fir Park on Sunday, capitalising after Heart of Midlothian FC slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Kilmarnock FC. Kris Boyd and Dado Pršo grabbed a double apiece as Rangers FC defeated bottom club Livingston FC 4-1 at Ibrox on Saturday. Hibernian FC stay ahead of Rangers in third place following their 3-1 home win over Dunfermline Athletic FC, while Craig Brewster's first game in charge of Dundee United FC ended in a 1-1 draw with Aberdeen FC at Tannadice.
Greek hiatus
With the national team playing a tournament in Saudi Arabia, only one match took place in the Greek Alpha Ethniki. The previously postponed match between Egaleo FC and Kallithea FC ended in a 1-0 win for the former side.
