Valuable role
The 36-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur FC custodian joined Mönchengladbach in January 2005 and played a major part in their successful battle against relegation. Keller has continued his excellent form this season, with his side climbing to seventh in the Bundesliga, within touching distance of a European place. Mönchengladbach sporting director Peter Pander said: "We're delighted Kasey will be part of the team next season."
US award
Keller's performances in 2005 earned him the United States Soccer Federation's male athlete of the year award. He made 14 appearances for his country over the 12 months, setting a US record of 639 minutes without conceding a goal.
