News round-up: Croatian international goalkeeper Tomislav Butina will join Olympiacos CFP in the summer, while Lech Poznań have signed Bartosz Bosacki.

Goalkeeper Tomislav Butina will join Olympiacos CFP in the summer on a free transfer from Club Brugge KV. The 31-year old Croatian international, who began his career with NK Dinamo Zagreb before signing for the Belgian side in May 2003, will be reunited with his former coach at Club Brugge, Trond Sollied. Butina will join Ivory Coast midfielder Marco Ne and Polish defender Michał Żewłakow, who have both already agreed moves to the club when their contracts expire on 1 July.

Another Polish international, defender Bartosz Bosacki, has signed a contract for the rest of the season with his former club Lech Poznań. The 30-year-old, who left German side 1. FC Nürnberg on Friday, has returned to his homeland to gain regular first-team football ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

Republic of Ireland midfielder Matthew Holland has announced his retirement from international football. The 31-year-old played in the 2002 FIFA World Cup, and his decision comes months after Ireland failed to reach the 2006 edition. "[Manager] Steve Staunton tried to talk me out of it but the time is right to quit," said Holland.

Dundee United FC will be without defender Paul Ritchie for a further two months. The 30-year-old centre-back has been out of action since 15 January when he suffered a dead leg against Falkirk FC, but a visit to a specialist has revealed the player has a haematoma which requires complete rest.
