Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed a contract extension with forward Benjamin Köhler, committing the 25-year-old to the German Bundesliga team until the summer of 2009. "I am delighted that Benni is signing new terms – he's an important player for us," said Eintracht coach Friedhelm Funkel. Köhler has made 16 Bundesliga appearances this season, scoring one goal.
MSV Duisburg midfielder Andreas Voss is to undergo surgery on the knee injury which has kept him out of the Bundesliga season so far. The 26-year-old has been unable to shake off a problem with the cartilage in his right knee which he sustained in pre-season. He will be operated on this week, followed by a second intervention the next.
Beşiktaş JK have signed 20-year-old striker Gökhan Güleç from Gaziantepspor. As part of the deal, Ahmet Dursun and Veysel Cihan have moved in the opposite direction along with €250,000. Gökhan spent a year at Gaziantepspor after joining from lower-league İnegölspor.
Valencia CF striker Patrick Kluivert will undergo exploratory knee surgery in the Netherlands. The 29-year-old Dutch international had complained of pain in his right knee after training with the Primera División club last week. The operation will take place next week.
Cádiz CF midfielder Iván Ania will be sidelined for two months after breaking his collarbone. The 28-year-old was injured ten minutes into Sunday's 1-1 draw with Villarreal CF. Ania has undergone surgery, with club doctor Fernández Cubero saying: "It's gone well. We have reinforced the shoulder with pins and he should be fit in eight weeks."
Brazilian centre-back Emerson Thome has parted company with Wigan Athletic FC. The 33-year-old former Chelsea FC player had been with the English Premiership high-fliers since August 2004 but found first-team opportunities limited this season, making just three English League Cup appearances.
Former Czech international striker Josef Obajdin has joined Wisła Płock on loan until the season's end after a successful trial. The 35-year-old, who has spent most of his career at AC Sparta Praga, arrives from third division SK Slovan Varnsdorf and will link up with Czech coach Josef Csaplár.
Bulgarian club PFC Vihren Sandanski have recruited defender Slavco Georgievski from F.Y.R. Macedonia and Portuguese midfielder Pinha following successful trials. Georgievski has inked an 18-month contract with Pinha signing on for the next three years.
