Wales defender Mark Delaney will stay at Aston Villa FC for another season after the Premiership club took up their extension option on the player's contract. Villa had until 1 March to extend the 29-year-old's deal. Manager David O'Leary said: "I've always wanted Mark to stay. The only doubt has been his injury problems."
Real Sociedad de Fútbol have extended Gari Uranga's contract until summer 2008. The 25-year-old midfielder's existing deal had been due to expire at the end of the season. "The club trust me and my wish has always been to stay here and this will be my motivation to work hard every day," he said.
Gaziantepspor have appointed Samet Aybaba as their coach following the resignation of Hüseyin Kalpar. The new man has signed a one-and-a-half year contract with the Turkish Superleague's 14th-placed team. "Samet Aybaba is a coach who has taken the sides he has coached to higher places, and he has won the Turkish Cup twice," club president İbrahim Kızıl said.
