Article body
Giovanni Galeone has been named as the new coach of Udinese Calcio until the end of the season after the club parted company with Loris Dominissini on Sunday.
Second chance
The 65-year-old Galeone made his name at Pescara Calcio in the mid-1980s, and coached Udinese in 1994/95, leading the team to promotion from Serie B. His last experience in Serie A came in 2004 when he faced relegation with Ancona Calcio. Dominissini's brief reign came to an end following a 4-0 home defeat against AC Milan which left Udinese fourth from bottom of Serie A and just one point clear of the relegation zone. Dominissini had replaced Serse Cosmi on 11 February but picked up just two points in Serie A during his brief tenure.
Sensini resigns
Veteran defender Nestor Sensini had worked alongside Dominissini during a spell which also saw Udinese knocked out of the UEFA Cup following a 2-1 aggregate defeat against PFC Lokomotiv Moskva. He resigned from his post at the club today.
