The Republic of Ireland scored in either half against Switzerland to record their first victory in FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying Group 4.

Grant opener
Goals from Ciara Grant (23) and Olivia O’Toole (90) saw the Irish home at Richmond Park, leaving them on four points from as many games in a pool likely to be dominated by the holders Germany. Manager Noel King said of a match screened live on TG4: "I was delighted with the result and the whole occasion. I thought we controlled the game and thoroughly deserved the win on the day."

'Commitments'
He continued: "These girls put a lot of effort in behind the scenes and most people don't know about it. They really deserve today because they have a lot of commitments like jobs and homes and they put so much into this to get this result."
