PSG and OM hit by point deduction

French football's Committee of Ethics has deducted a point from Paris Saint-Germain FC and Olympique de Marseille following their goalless draw on 5 March.

French football's Committee of Ethics has deducted a point from both Paris Saint-Germain FC and Olympique de Marseille following their goalless draw at the Parc des Princes on 5 March.

'Serious damage'
The clubs' failure to resolve a dispute over the away side's ticket allocation resulted in Marseille refusing to send any fans to Paris and fielding a third-choice team for the game, which finished 0-0. "The way the clubs behaved in this affair caused serious damage to football's image," said the committee. "They did not respect the rules, morals or ethics." The committee also suspended both club presidents, Pierre Blayau of PSG and Pape Diouf of OM, for three months.

Deadline set
The sides have until 30 June to reach agreement on future ticket allocations and security provisions for visiting supporters. Both teams have the right to appeal against the sanction, which leaves PSG and Marseille still seventh and eighth respectively in Ligue 1.
