'A great club'
The 57-year-old has signed a one-year contract to replace Dror Kashtan – Israel's national coach in waiting – at the end of the season. "I am delighted to come to such a great club and I look forward to good times here," he said. Shum's success in leading Maccabi Haifa FC to the UEFA Champions League group stage in 2002/03 earned him the Panathinaikos FC job. He subsequently had spells with PFC Litex Lovech in Bulgaria and FC Alania Vladikavkaz in Russia.
