AS Nancy-Lorraine have extended coach Pablo Correa's contract by four years until 2012 as a reward for the Uruguayan overseeing qualification for European football for the first time in 28 years.

League Cup win
The 39-year-old took over at the Marcel Picot stadium on 11 November 2002 with the club from the east of France struggling to avoid relegation to the third tier. He led them to the Ligue 2 title last term and to League Cup glory on 23 April at the Stade de France following victory over OGC Nice. "I'm very happy to stay in Nancy," said Correa, whose assistant Paul Fischer has also had his deal extended.

'New players'
Club president Jacques Rousselot plans "to keep the current team under contract while adding two or three new players" over the summer in anticipation of their return to UEFA club competition. Nancy's last foray saw them lose 4-3 to Swiss side Servette FC in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup second round in 1978/79.
