Tottenham Hotspur FC's England defender Ledley King has signed a new and improved four-year contract with the Premiership high-fliers.

UEFA Champions League goal
The 25-year-old Londoner has captained Tottenham during their best league campaign since 1989/90, when they finished third in the top flight. The White Hart Lane club are fourth in the Premiership and within reach of UEFA Champions League qualification, although Arsenal FC could yet catch them or deny them simply by winning the final against FC Barcelona.

'Very bright future'
The homegrown King, who has made 172 league appearances for Tottenham spanning eight seasons, said: "I am thoroughly enjoying my football at Tottenham. It has been a terrific season, one of the best while I have been at the club. We are a club with a very bright future and I am looking forward to playing a part in that." King is hoping to feature in England's FIFA World Cup finals squad despite breaking a bone in his foot on 15 April.
