Eager to play
The 32-year-old, who was out of contract, has put pen to paper on a three-year deal and may now play in the 2006/07 UEFA Champions League. "I cannot wait to play at the Sükrü Şaraçoğlu stadium," he said. "I know what Fenerbahçe fans are like. I will show more spirit on the pitch than any die-hard Fenerbahçe fan."
Samsunspor success
After starting his career at his local club Zonguldakspor, Tümer played at Vanspor before making a big impression after signing for Samsunspor in the 1997/98 season. After four seasons at Samsunspor, Tümer came to Beşiktaş in the summer of 2001 along with team-mate Ilhan Mansiz.
International recognition
Tümer made 132 appearances for Beşiktaş, scoring 33 goals. He made his debut for Turkey in February 2003 in a friendly against Ukraine and has won 12 international caps since, scoring four goals. Fenerbahçe's UEFA Champions League campaign will start in the second qualifying round of next season's competition.
