Giovanni Galeone has signed a one-year extension to his contract at Udinese Calcio after helping the Italian side escape relegation.
Danger zone
The 65-year-old coach took over at Udinese in March following the departure of Loris Dominissini and has done enough to drag them away from the Serie A danger zone. The club have now agreed a deal to keep the former Pescara Calcio trainer until the end of the 2006/07 campaign.
Previous spell
Udinese have earned 12 points from six games under Galeone to ensure that a season that started with a first UEFA Champions League appearance does not end in relegation. They are up to 14th in the table. Galeone previously led Udinese to promotion from Serie B in 1994/95.
