Rensing eyes bright future at Bayern

German double winners FC Bayern München have extended No2 goalkeeper Michael Rensing's contract by three years until the summer of 2010.

Oliver Kahn's understudy has made five Bundesliga appearances this season and has impressed the German double winners sufficiently to have three years added to his existing deal. The 21-year-old said: "I have attained a certain standing at the club." With Kahn announcing recently that he intends to retire in 2008, Rensing will make the Bayern No1 jersey his long-term goal.
