Bolton Wanderers FC have released experienced duo Jay-Jay Okocha and Bruno N'Gotty. The 32-year-old former Nigeria captain Okocha and the 34-year-old French central defender N'Gotty had both reached the end of their contracts. "We are hoping to reduce the overall age of our squad and it was a tough decision not to offer them new deals," said manager Sam Allardyce.

Liverpool FC's Spanish international midfielder Xabi Alonso could yet be fit to play in Saturday's FA Cup final against West Ham United FC. The 24-year-old was stretchered off during yesterday's Premiership win at Portsmouth FC after twisting his right ankle. However, following a scan earlier today, Alonso said: "I am very positive about my chances of being fit for Saturday."

Juventus will play their decisive Serie A fixture against Reggina Calcio at AS Bari's Stadio San Nicola stadium on Sunday. Reggina were forced to stage the game at a neutral venue after crowd trouble at the Stadio Granillo during the 30 April match against FC Messina Peloro. Juvents, three points ahead of nearest rivals AC Milan, need just a point to clinch their 29th title.

NAC Breda have avoided relegation from the Dutch Eredivisie after their 0-0 home draw against second division side FC Volendam secured a 2-1 aggregate victory in the promotion/relegation play-offs. Volendam will regret missed chances by Jack Tuyp and Charles Dissels against opponents reduced to ten men by Timothy Derijck's sending-off.

Charlton Athletic FC have signed United States international Cory Gibbs on a free transfer from Feyenoord. The 26-year-old left-sided defender spent the second half of the Dutch season on loan at ADO Den Haag.

Falkirk FC striker Pedro Moutinho has signed a new one-year contract with the Scottish Premier League outfit. The 26-year-old former Portuguese Under-21 international has scored six goals this season, having recovered from a serious knee injury which sidelined him for the first half of the season.
