International debut
The 22-year-old, who made his international debut earlier this week in a 1-0 defeat by Chile, has made 43 Premiership appearances for Tottenham as well as gaining experience on loan with Southend United FC, Queen's Park Rangers FC and Watford FC. However, the London club will not be pursuing a further deal with Egypt striker Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam, who has returned to AS Roma with his loan having expired, while 33-year-old Serbo-Montenegrin defender Goran Bunjevcević and 36-year-old Moroccan defender Nourredine Naybet have been released. Tottenham will play in the UEFA Cup after finishing fifth in the Premiership.
