Liverani lands at Fiorentina

UEFA Champions League hopefuls ACF Fiorentina have signed midfielder Fabio Liverani on a free transfer from Serie A rivals S.S. Lazio.

The left-footer has agreed a two-year contract with Fiorentina. Capped twice by Italy, the 30-year-old leaves Lazio after five seasons at the Stadio Olimpico, having previously played for AC Perugia. He appeared 29 times for Lazio last term, helping the Rome side to finish sixth in Serie A and qualify for the UEFA Cup. Fiorentina will start in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League after taking fourth place.
