Corrêa opportunity for Dynamo

Ukrainian UEFA Champions League contenders FC Dynamo Kyiv have signed Brazilian defensive midfielder Carlos Corrêa from SE Palmeiras.

Five-year deal
Dynamo, who lost out to FC Shakhtar Donetsk in a play-off game for the 2005/06 Ukrainian title, have signed the 25-year-old Corrêa - one of Palmeiras's most consistent performers in recent years - on a five-year contract after club officials identified a weakness in the centre of the club's midfield.

"We settled all the issues very quickly," said Corrêa, who can also play at right-back and has a powerful shot. "In Kiev, they have a solid team with a serious approach towards football. I think I will be very successful here." Dynamo start their UEFA Champions League campaign in the second qualifying round.
