Bayern give youngsters a chance

FC Bayern München have brought back defender Christian Lell after a loan spell at 1. FC Köln while handing a four-year contract to young talent Stephan Fürstner.

Lell, 21, rose up through the ranks at Bayern but has spent the past two-and-a-half seasons at Köln, who were relegated at the end of the 2005/06 campaign. He played 26 times in the Bundesliga last season. Germany Under-19 midfielder Fürstner will also be a part of Felix Magath's plans for the future, with the 18-year-old catching the eye of chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. “He showed outstanding efforts in our junior team and during our recent US tour he did very well," he said. "We trust in him for the future.”
