Nice time for Kanté and Moussilou

OGC Nice have signed RC Strasbourg defender Cédric Kanté while new team-mate Matt Moussilou has revealed he cannot wait to get next season started.

Gap filled
The 26-year-old Kanté will fill the gap left by Sammy Traoré's departure for Paris Saint-Germain FC earlier this week. Although he was unable to prevent Strasbourg's relegation from Ligue 1, many consider last season as his best to date as he made 30 appearances in the centre of defence. Kanté, a Malian international who has been capped ten times, will have a three-year contract.

'Ambitious side'
In moving from LOSC Lille Métropole on a three-year deal for a fee of €3.8m, striker Moussilou is the most expensive signing in Nice's history. The 24-year-old is eager to prove his worth after a difficult campaign in 2005/06 when he started just 12 league matches, scoring just four goals. "Nice have showed constant improvements in the last couple of seasons," said the forward. "They are an ambitious side who progress step by step. After a tough season, they're the perfect side to bounce back with."
