Blackburn Rovers FC midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen has signed a new four-year contract that will keep him at Ewood Park until 2010.
Two years in England
The 24-year-old Norwegian international, who has scored five goals in 23 appearances for his country, moved to England from Tromsø IL in 2004 in a €2.2m transfer and scored ten Premiership goals in 2005/06 to help his side claim sixth place in the English top flight and a berth in the UEFA Cup. Blackburn will enter the 2006/07 competition in the first round.
'Major impact'
"We are absolutely delighted that Morten has extended his deal with the club," said Blackburn chairman John Williams. "He has become a big player for us and I am sure this news will be warmly welcomed by Rovers fans. "He has made a major impact here, and it is very good news that he is happy to sign a new deal."
