Johan Neeskens has been named as Frank Rijkaard's assistant at FC Barcelona after Henk ten Cate's departure for AFC Ajax.

Together again
The former Barça midfielder has signed a three-year contract to become his Dutch compatriot Rijkaard's right-hand man at Camp Nou following Ten Cate's appointment as Ajax's new coach last month. The pair previously worked together as assistant and coach in leading the Netherlands to the semi-finals of UEFA EURO 2000™. Neeskens is currently working alongside Australia coach Guus Hiddink at the FIFA World Cup finals in Germany. The 54-year-old is set to be officially unveiled by the Spanish champions and UEFA Champions League holders when the tournament is over.
