Glory days
He had overseen the most successful period in Milan's history after taking the helm in 1986 but had to resign for legal reasons after becoming Italy's prime minister for a second time in order to avoid a conflict of interests. He lost his political position following a general election in April. His first spell as president coincided with the Rossoneri winning seven Serie A titles, four European Champion Clubs' Cups, one Coppa Italia, one UEFA Super Cup and two European/South American Cups.
