Portsmouth loan
The 25-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Portsmouth FC, helping the south coast side avoid relegation from the Premiership. He joined Wolfsburg from CA River Plate in July 2003 for around €10m, and won an Olympic gold medal with Argentina in 2004.
