ACF Fiorentina have signed midfielder Manuele Blasi on a one-year loan from Juventus with an option to make the move permanent next summer.
International experience
The 25-year-old Italian international, who has eight caps for his country but missed out on Marcello Lippi's FIFA World Cup finals squad, made 13 Serie A appearances and five in the UEFA Champions League last term, helping Juventus claim the Scudetto for the second year running.
Perugia spell
Blasi has also played for AS Roma, AC Perugia and Parma FC, with his 76 league games for Perugia spanning three seasons with that club. He joined Juventus in summer 2003 and was promptly loaned to Parma for the 2003/04 campaign, before returning to Turin the following summer and starting 18 Serie A matches in 2004/05 as Fabio Capello's team won the title. Fiorentina will kick off 2006/07 in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round after finishing fourth in Serie A.
