News round-up: ÍA Akranes have made a twin appointment to their vacant coach's position while HNK Rijeka have made a double signing.

ÍA Akranes coach Ólafur Thórdarson has resigned from his post and will be replaced by twin brothers and former ÍA players Arnar and Bjarki Gunnlaugsson. The team play a UEFA Cup qualifier against Danish side Randers FC on 13 July but find themselves bottom of the Icelandic top flight at the mid-point of the domestic season. The Gunnlaugsson brothers are 33 years old and have no previous coaching experience.

AJ Auxerre have signed goalkeeper Anthony Basso from Viking FK. Basso spent seven years at the French Ligue 1 club as a youth team player, and will now fight to dislodge Fabien Cool as the side’s first-choice custodian after signing a contract until summer 2009. "This is a great opportunity for me," he said. "The club noticed that I was the best goalkeeper in Norway during the spring."

Croatian Cup-winners HNK Rijeka have confirmed the double signing of Nino Bule and Mihael Mikić. The 30-year-old forward Bule has three caps for Croatia and has joined from FC Wacker Tirol in Austria. Mikić is a former Under-21 international who plays on the right side of midfield, and spent two seasons at 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Both players have penned two-year contracts.

Danish Superliga club Odense BK have signed 26-year-old Swedish midfielder Tobias Grahn on a one year loan deal from relegated AGF Århus. "As OB finished third last season I am sure I will be joining a top team," said Grahn. "Although the club have lost several good players, some exciting newcomers have joined, and I hope to contribute personally towards keeping the team at the top of the table."
