Vercauteren path
The pacy winger is expected to sign a three-year contract over the next few days following lengthy negotiation. "It took time for the clubs to come to an agreement so I'm relieved everything is completed," the 26-year-old said. "I will visit Anderlecht on Monday to say goodbye. I know that [Anderlecht coach] Frank Vercauteren played for Nantes [between 1987 and 1990], but we did not talk about that. We'll do that now."
Swedish influence
Ever-present in Sweden's FIFA World Cup campaign, Wilhelmsson will join international team-mates Andreas Isaksson, Erik Edman, Kim Källström and Johan Elmander in Ligue 1. He leaves Brussels after three years at Anderlecht, twice winning the Belgian title, having joined from Norwegian side Stabæk IF in 2003.
