Juventus have agreed to loan goalkeeper Landry Bonnefoi to Ligue 2 side FC Metz, with the French team having an option to buy him. The 22-year-old returns to his homeland after five seasons in Italy that have brought just one Serie A match, for FC Messina Peloro. "I don't regret leaving France early. I learnt a lot in Italy but needed to play," said Bonnefoi.
Portsmouth FC have made midfielder David Thompson their latest summer signing after the 28-year-old agreed a one-year contract. Thompson was without a club after leaving Wigan Athletic FC at the end of last season, having made ten appearances.
VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach have acquired Argentinian international midfielder Federico Insúa from CA Boca Juniors. The 26-year-old, capped six times, has been given a four-year contract and the No10 shirt. The two clubs have also signed a cooperation agreement for the future.
Olympique de Marseille winger Fabrice Fiorèse is to join French top-flight newcomers FC Lorient on a one-year loan having already spent last season at Qatar side Al-Rayyan. The 31-year-old has played just 18 times for Marseille since joining early in the 2004/05 campaign. Lorient will also sign Algeria defender Rafik Saïfi on a one-year contract from AC Ajaccio.
1. FC Nürnberg have signed Dutch striker Gerald Sibon from PSV Eindhoven. The 32-year-old has moved on a free transfer and will help compensate for an injury to Australia forward Josh Kennedy who has torn his achilles tendon.
Danish forward Jesper Bech has returned to his come country, signing for Esbjerg fB from Malmö FF in Sweden. He previously played for FC København. "I felt that my development as a footballer had come to a standstill, and I am looking forward to getting my career going again here in Esbjerg," said Bech.
Scottish Premier League outfit Falkirk FC have completed the signing of goalkeeper Jerone Lambers from FC Groningen. The 25-year-old trained with Falkirk during their recent tour of the Netherlands and has signed a one-year contract.
Also in Scotland, Rangers FC captain Barry Ferguson will miss the first five weeks of the new season with a heel injury. The 28-year-old Ferguson had reconstructive surgery on his ankle at the end of last term, but imflammation around his heel has delayed the Scotland captains return to first-team action.
Korona Kielce have acquired Maciej Kowalczyk from Ukrainian club FC Arsenal Kyiv. The 29-year-old forward, who spent four seasons at Arsenal, scoring 12 goals in 71 league games, has penned a one-year contract with an option for two more. Meanwhile, Arka Gdynia have terminated the contract of their 25-year-old goalkeeper Michał Chamera by mutual agreement.
Newly-promoted Ligue 1 side CS Sedan-Ardennes are to sign centre-back Jean-Michel Badiane from Paris Saint-Germain FC. "An agreement has been reached for the defender, who will join us for the next three seasons," said a Sedan sentence. The 23-year-old product of the PSG academy was a marginal figure at the Parc des Princes, playing just three league games last season.
