The transfer should be completed on Monday and will reunite the 30-year-old former Dutch international with coach Dick Advocaat, who brought Ricksen to Scotland from AZ Alkmaar six summers ago. The versatile right-sided player has subsequently made 182 Premier League appearances, scoring 13 goals.

Out of favour
Ricksen is out of favour with Rangers boss Paul Le Guen following a disagreement on the club's pre-season tour of South Africa. He has since spent time in a rehabilitation clinic. Rangers said: "The agreement is subject to the player passing a medical and personal terms being agreed, which hopefully will be done by the end of this week." Zenit will also travel to Glasgow for a friendly on 23 August.

Panov agreement
Another player set to join Zenit is FC Torpedo Moskva forward Aleksandr Panov. The 30-year-old ex-Russian international made his name at Zenit before moving to France with AS Saint-Etienne in 2000. The two teams have settled on a fee for Panov, who has struck 27 goals in 67 Premier-Liga games for Torpedo.
