Peter Odemwingie scored a hat-trick as LOSC Lille Métropole defeated ten-man RC Lens 4-0 to go top of Ligue 1 while Franck Ribéry helped Olympique de Marseille to fifth place in a 2-0 win against Stade Rennais FC.
No mercy
Lille will play their UEFA Champions League matches at Lens's Stade Félix-Bollaert provided they complete an expected qualifying victory against FK Rabotnicki, but they did their potential landlords no favours following the 36th-minute dismissal of Sidi Yaya Keita. The home side were leading 2-0 at that point through goals from Mathieu Bodmer and Odemwingie.
Ribéry key
The Nigerian international salted the visitors' wounds after half-time, first by converting a Kader Keita cross, then by completing his hat-trick on 66 minutes from an assist by the same player. Lille lead the table on goal difference from AS Nancy-Lorraine and FC Girondins de Bordeaux. Marseille, meanwhile, claimed their first victory of the campaign at home to Rennes. Mickaël Pagis set them on their way before Ribéry, turning in a man-of-the-match performance, set up Toifilou Maoulida for the second.
