FC Bayern München kept up their winning start to the Bundesliga season with a 2-1 victory at VfL Bochum 1848 while VfB Stuttgart got off the mark with three points at DSC Arminia Bielefeld despite ending with nine men.

Lahm winner
Reigning champions Bayern, who defeated BV Borussia Dortmund 2-0 last Friday to begin their campaign on a high note, went ahead 40 minutes in at Bochum through Roy Makaay. Fabio Júnior equalised early in the second half but with 25 minutes left Philipp Lahm turned in Willy Sagnol's cross to secure victory for the visitors, who are now third in the table behind leaders 1. FC Nürnberg on goal difference while Bochum are without a point.

Nine men triumph
Stuttgart lost 3-0 at home to Nürnberg last week but were 3-2 winners at Arminia today. Fernando Meira put Stuttgart into a 40th-minute lead but not long after the hour mark Ricardo Osorio was sent off and within two minutes Abdelaziz Ahanfouf had equalised from the penalty spot. Cacau restored the Stuttgart advantage in the 73rd minute - only for Jörg Böhme to level and Antonio Da Silva to receive his second yellow card not long afterwards. However, despite the two-man deficit Stuttgart had the last word seven minutes from time through Cacau's powerful strike.
