Thomas Gravesen and Kenny Miller scored their first goals for the club as Celtic FC warmed up for FC København by defeating Glasgow rivals Rangers FC.

Goals from Thomas Gravesen and Kenny Miller gave the champions Celtic FC a 2-0 home victory against Rangers FC in the first Old Firm derby of the season on Saturday.

First goal
Danish midfielder Gravesen struck the opener after 34 minutes when he dived full length to head the ball in after Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor had brilliantly parried a Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink header. Former Rangers striker Miller scored his first goal for Celtic against his former club when he charged free down the middle and poked a low shot beyond McGregor in the 73rd minute.

Celtic on top
Celtic top the standings with 19 points from eight games and stretched the gap to seven points over Rangers who remain third. Second-placed Heart of Midlothian FC, with 13 points from seven games, travel to Aberdeen FC on Sunday.
