No wins
The eight-time French champions are second from bottom in Ligue 1 on three points after failing to win any of their opening six games. Nantes were also eliminated from the French League Cup last night, the 2-0 defeat by Toulouse FC prompting Le Dizet's dismissal. Club president Rudi Roussillon said: "It was an extremely tough decision because I like Serge as a man and as a coach, but we were in an impossible position."
Marseille first
Éo, 58, played for the club between 1967 and 1972 before returning to take up various roles including chief scout. His first game at the helm will see joint-leaders Olympique de Marseille visit La Beaujoire on Sunday.
