Defender Massimo Oddo scored twice as S.S. Lazio put on a powerful second-half display to sweep aside Torino Calcio 4-0 in Serie A on Saturday.
Spectacular collapse
The win gave Lazio minus two points from five matches - just one victory away from overturning the eight-point penalty handed down to them in Italy's sporting fraud trial. FC Internazionale Milano lead the standings on ten points ahead of their game at Cagliari Calcio on Sunday. Torino, who have earned just two points since returning to the top flight, held out in the first half but collapsed in spectacular fashion after the break as striker Tommaso Rocchi put Lazio ahead with a close-range strike in the 49th minute.
Penalty
The visitors doubled their lead six minutes later after Marco Di Loreto fouled Rocchi in the area and Oddo scored from the resulting penalty. Di Loreto was also involved in Oddo's second goal, deflecting a long-range shot by the Italy defender past his own goalkeeper after 68 minutes. The result was sealed three minutes later, when Stefano Mauri fired the loose ball into the roof of the net following a Rocchi shot.
Draw
Earlier, Atalanta BC and Reggina Calcio drew 1-1 after goals by Atalanta defender Simone Loria and midfielder Giacomo Tedesco in the first six minutes cancelled each other out.
