AS Monaco FC forward Mohamed Kallon will be out for a month after suffering a knee sprain during Sunday's 2-1 home defeat by Paris Saint-Germain FC in Ligue 1. The 26-year-old Sierra Leone international had scored for the principality team before limping off on the stroke of half-time.
French side CS Sedan-Ardennes have signed Cameroon striker Joseph-Désiré Job while losing the services of defender Romain Sartre for the next month. The 28-year-old Job arrives on an initial one-year contract from Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad. He previously scored 17 goals in 93 Premiership games for Middlesbrough FC. Sedan must, however, do without Sartre after the 23-year-old ruptured cruciate knee ligaments during Saturday's 2-1 home loss to Le Mans UC 72.
Former FC Bayern München player Oliver Kreuzer is poised to become sporting director of Austrian league leaders FC Salzburg. The 40-year-old will work alongside Salzburg coaches Giovanni Trapattoni and Lothar Matthäus, whom he knows well from his time at Bayern. Having started out with Karlsruher SC, Kreuzer ended his playing days at FC Basel 1893 where he was subsequently general manager from 2002-05.
Germany striker Gerald Asamoah has been restored to the FC Schalke 04 first-team ranks after he was dropped from the squad for Sunday's defeat at Hertha BSC Berlin for undermining coach Mirko Slomka. The 27-year-old, who has made 203 Bundesliga appearances for Schalke, allegedly threatened to make public comments about Slomka if he was left out of the team. His suspension has been lifted following talks between player, coach and Schalke officials, with Slomka saying: "The matter is closed and we are looking forward now."
Manchester City FC defender Hatem Trabelsi faces a month out after tearing a groin muscle on his debut in Sunday's Premiership reverse at Blackburn Rovers FC. Trabelsi, 29, joined City from AFC Ajax after representing Tunisia at the FIFA World Cup in Germany.
Motherwell FC defender Brian McLean could be out for three months after suffering a serious knee injury in Sunday's 1-0 home defeat by Heart of Midlothian FC. The 21-year-old centre-back was stretchered off six minutes into the match and scans have confirmed he has sustained medial ligament and cartilage damage. "He will see a specialist on Wednesday and he'll have to decide when he can have surgery," manager Maurice Malpas said.
FC Zenit St. Petersburg captain and midfielder Vladislav Radimov has agreed a new deal. The 30-year-old Russian international is now under contract at the Petrovsky stadium until the end of 2008.
César Jiménez has returned to training with Real Zaragoza after 20 months out with a knee injury. The 28-year-old defender ruptured cruciate ligaments in his right knee in a collision with Real Madrid CF midfielder Luís Figo in January 2005 before suffering a relapse which forced him to have another operation last October.
