Frau banned for two months

Paris Saint-Germain FC striker Pierre-Alain Frau has been suspended for two months by the French Professional League disciplinary commission.

Paris Saint-Germain FC striker Pierre-Alain Frau has been suspended for two months by the French Professional League disciplinary commission for his tackle on CS Sedan-Ardennes's Stéphane Noro on 14 October.

Six-month absence
Noro underwent surgery on Wednesday for a cruciate knee ligament rupture and faces six months on the sidelines. Frau's suspension has been ruled to have begun on 18 October and he will miss the next ten Ligue 1 games and is scheduled to return to domestic action against ES Troyes Aube Champagne on 19 December.

Consideration
In deciding the suspension, the commission was mindful that the 26-year-old did not intend to inflict injury. Disciplinary commission president Jacques Riolacci said: "We took into account that Frau is not usually involved in such violent actions. But because of [Noro's] six-month absence it deserved a sanction. Should the tackle have been intentional the ban would have been increased."
