Dramatic winner
Jesualdo Ferreira's side took a two-goal lead before the break, thanks to Hélder Postiga on 12 minutes and a superb run and shot by Ricardo Quaresma eight minutes later. But Benfica hit back with second-half strikes from Greek international midfielder Konstantinos Katsouranis (62) and Nuno Gomes (82) only for substitute Moraes to score a dramatic stoppage-time winner. Porto are now two points ahead of Sporting Clube de Portugal, and six in front of Benfica who have a game in hand.
Hamburg hope
"We didn't need to suffer so much in the end of the game in order to win this match," said Ferreira. "We dominated the first half, played aggressively and pressured our opponent in their own area. We scored two goals and were pretty much in control but then Benfica scored from set pieces. Now we must achieve a positive result against Hamburger SV. My team is growing with each game but we can still improve a lot."
Celtic revenge
Porto will be buoyed by the win ahead of their UEFA Champions League Group E match against Hamburg on Wednesday, while on the same evening Benfica will be hoping for better luck against Celtic FC, against whom they will be looking to avenge their recent 3-0 Group F defeat on Matchday 3. "We didn't deserve to lose," added Ferreira.
