Club Atlético de Madrid defender Pablo Ibáñez faces around a month out of action, ruling him out of Spain's friendly against Romania in Cadiz next Wednesday.

Club Atlético de Madrid's Spanish international defender Pablo Ibáñez faces a month out of action as he recovers from a bruised kidney and a minor spinal injury.

Heavy challenge
The 25-year-old felt the full force of a challenge in the weekend stalemate at RCD Mallorca and has been undergoing tests this week. Pablo is expected to miss at least three Primera División matches as well as Spain's friendly against Romania in Cadiz next Wednesday. Ninth-placed Atlético have a mounting injury list which includes other key men Maxi Rodríguez, Martin Petrov and Mista.
