Panagiotis Lemonis has resigned as coach of Skoda Xanthi FC prompting speculation over a change of leadership at Olympiacos CFP.
Brief tenure
The 46-year-old coach, who spent eight years as a player at Olympiacos and also coached the team for a while until his departure in October 2002, announced his decision to quit after a 1-0 Greek Cup win against Panionios NFC. He had only taken charge at Xanthi in September.
Olympiacos speculation
Lemonis's move has sparked rumours that he may soon be named as the new coach of Olympiacos. The Piraeus side's current coach, Norwegian Trond Sollied, has been under pressure since his side finished at the bottom of their UEFA Champions League group for the second season in succession.
