Jacobsen ready to join Nürnberg

The Danish international right-back Lars Jacobsen has agreed to join Bundesliga side 1. FC Nürnberg on a free transfer from FC København at the season's end.

København mainstay
The 27-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Bundesliga outfit which will come into effect on 1 July 2007, once his København contract expires. Jacobsen played in all ten of København's UEFA Champions League games this season and has been capped eight times by Denmark. Now captain at the Parken stadium, he has won Danish titles with København in 2003/04 and 2005/06.

Bader thrilled
Between 2002 and the start of 2004, the former Odense BK defender Jacobsen made 22 Bundesliga appearances for Hamburger SV, scoring once. Nürnberg sporting director Martin Bader said: "We are happy we have acquired a player with international experience on a free transfer. We believe he can improve the quality of our squad."
